Online games for
cognitive wellness
Finding moments of calm and mental clarity has
become increasingly important in the busyness
of everyday life. While a cup of tea and a good
book offer simple pleasures, engaging in mindful
activities like word searches can provide an
array of benefits for our minds and overall
wellbeing. More than just a pleasant pastime,
these gentle mental exercises can sharpen
focus, reduce stress, and even foster a sense of
accomplishment, all while offering a tranquil
escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Research by the University of Exeter and King’s
College London found that regular mindfulness
practice can positively improve cognitive
memory, while research by the National Library
of Medicine suggests that such practices can
improve sleep quality. We have composed a
list of some of our favourite online games that
we like to think will help contribute to a more
peaceful and engaged life.
The New York Times have a selection of word and
logic games, and other puzzles to provide mindful
moments. From Strands (where you can find
hidden words and uncover the day’s themes),
to Wordle (a simple game where your challenge
is to guess a five-letter word in six attempts.
There are a variety of games to help you find
a moment of calm each and every.
